Newcastle vs Blackburn Prediction & Betting tips
In England the ball always rolls. This will also be the case in the coming days when there are again games in the Carabao Cup. One of those matches is the game between Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers at St. James’ Park. A stunt is lurking, because in the second cup tournament of England, Newcastle United had little success in recent years, to say the least.
Newcastle United:
Newcastle United started the new season with a victory last weekend. The away game at West Ham United was scheduled for the team of Steve Bruce on Saturday-evening and that game was won 0-2. Newcastle’s goals were credited to Callum Wilson and Jeff Hendrick, two of Newcastle’s three debutants last Saturday. For the first time since 2012, Newcastle United managed to win an opening game again.
It is hoped for Newcastle United that it will also win a Carabao Cup match on Tuesday evening. In the past three seasons, Newcastle United was eliminated every time in the first round. The problem with Premier League clubs is often that they underestimate the first rounds of the tournament and therefore give substitutes the chance. Bruce will probably do the same against Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday-evening, as his team will play an important game against competitor Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend.
Blackburn Rovers:
Like Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers also started a new season of league football at the weekend. For The Rovers, an away game against relegant AFC Bournemouth immediately had a very tough game on the program. At the Vitality Stadium, Tony Mowbray’s team came back from a deficit twice, but after a beautiful third goal from Bournemouth attacker Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld, Blackburn finally had no answer: 2-3 loss.
The duel with Bournemouth was not the first serious match that Blackburn played this season. At their own Ewood Park, Blackburn already played a duel in the Carabao Cup against Doncaster Rovers two and a half weeks ago. That game was narrowly won 3-2 by Blackburn, which is now allowed to play a game at St. James’ Park. On a visit to Bournemouth, a title contender in the Championship, they did not crawl into their shell at Blackburn. It is also not expected that Blackburn will do that against Newcastle United, although it is of course always a question of which base team Mowbray will come up with.
