Oss vs Excelsior Prediction & Betting tips
Excelsior seemed to be in a downward spiral when the (in his own words) title candidate of six duels only managed to win once. In the meantime they managed to win two games and hope was back in Kralingen. On Friday evening it is allowed to visit low flyer TOP Oss, which also received a huge number of goals against with the defensive game approach.
TOP Oss:
Klaas Wels’ defensive approach made a big impression last season in the Kitchen Champion Division. The 5-3-2 formation was hard to beat and the team from Ossen defeated Young Ajax, Go Ahead Eagles, Sparta and FC Twente. With 48 goals in 38 games, the club finished in sixth place. This year it seems an impossible task to repeat that trick, because after eighteen rounds the club dangles in the lower regions of the ranking. Eleven times was lost and that brings TOP Oss to the eighteenth place. Several defeats showed that the defense – although it is five strong – is not watertight. They lost 4-0 to MVV, 3-0 to NEC, 5-1 to Cambuur and 4-0 to FC Den Bosch. No hopeful results.
Last weekend the match against Almere City was on the program. After four minutes they were already behind by a goal from Thomas Verheydt and given the strong home performance of Almere City in-house, it seemed to be an impossible task. In the second half, the score also ran to 2-0 and 3-0 and Almere City even missed the 4-0 from eleven meters.
Excelsior:
Excelsior has a changeable season. The club performs quite well in-house and despite the many goals, the Ricardo Moniz team often manages to end the games winning. Outside of Rotterdam the performance was rather disappointing and only two of the nine away games were won. It is now four away games undefeated and in the last away game against Roda JC was even convincingly won with 1-4. Thanks to earlier poor performances, the club has lost its connection to the top and they are in sixth place in the Kitchen Champion Division. That is a position that the Kralingers would certainly not settle for at the start of the season.
Last weekend Excelsior beat NEC on Woudestein. After a scoreless, boring first half, the second half started flashingly from both sides. Captain Sander Fischer scored a tag in the minute, but from the kick-off Ole Romeny managed to make the tying run. Only fifteen minutes before time, Joël Zwarts scored the winning one and Excelsior was able to add three more points after a 2-1 victory.
