Plzen vs D. Zagreb Prediction & Betting tips
In the Czech town of Plzen, not only is the oldest beer brewery in the world still in use, but there is also a lot of nice football. Viktoria Plzen already made a good impression in the Champions League and is now trying to place himself at the expense of Dinamo Zagreb for the eighth finals of the Europa League. However, the visitors from Croatia are in top form.
Viktoria Plzen:
Viktoria Plzen was in the past regularly ridiculed by Johan Derksen and René van der Gijp in the TV program Veronica Inside. Yet the Czechs show this season that they can play football very nicely. In the group stage of the Champions League they won against CSKA Moscow (1-2) and AS Roma (2-1) and they were very close to a thunderous stunt against Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu (2-1 defeat). The third place in group G of the Champions League and therefore overwintering in the Europa League was well deserved for the team of coach Pavel Vrba.
Viktoria Plzen thus makes a name for himself in Europe and makes a good chance against Dinamo Zagreb to reach the eighth finals of the Europa League. The big question, however, is whether the Czechs have enough match rhythm in their legs. After a long winter break, the Czech league was resumed only last weekend. On a visit to low flyer Mlada Boleslav, the vice-leader did not reach beyond a disappointing 1-1 draw, which put the deficit at leader Slavia Prague up to six points. That was not exactly the start that Vrba had in mind.
Dinamo Zagreb:
Dinamo Zagreb is going to be a rocket both inside and outside its own national borders this season. The Croats are largely in charge in their own country, with only nine loss points in twenty rounds of play. Also in the Europa League, the talents factory of trainer Nenad Bjelica is doing great, because in the group stage the team remained unbeaten in a group with Fenerbahce, Anderlecht and Spartak Trnava. Of course both Fenerbahce and Anderlecht are busy at a bar bad season, but there are few clubs that have managed to stay afloat in both Istanbul and Brussels.
Because of the big lead in his own country, Bjelica could afford to give rest to several strong holders in the home match against Istra 1961 last weekend. Club top scorer Bruno Petkovic, however, was kicked off and helped his team in the final phase to victory by the penalty kick his eighth league goal in sixteen performances to sign: 1-0. In addition, goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic fueled self-confidence by again keeping the zero. With only eleven goals in twenty league matches, the defense of the Croats is like a house.
