PSV vs Waalwijk Prediction & Betting tips
PSV will face RKC Waalwijk in their own stadium on Saturday evening. Anything other than a victory of the title candidate from Eindhoven on the low flyer would of course be a surprise.
PSV Eindhoven:
PSV is currently number three in the Eredivisie. Last weekend, the team was released with a shock, visiting Sparta Rotterdam. On a snowy field, the Eindhoven team fell behind, but PSV also managed to score goals in the difficult weather conditions. No less than five, resulting in a 3-5 victory. Midweek PSV came into action in the cup, at FC Volendam. In the first half PSV had to allow many chances to Volendam, but this did not lead to damage. Ultimately, Roger Schmidt’s team won 0-2.
Ibrahim Sangare was injured in Volendam, and has a question mark behind his name for Saturday. The playing of Olivier Boscagli is also uncertain. Mario Götze and Cody Gakpo will not be there anyway. Schmidt may therefore have to do some puzzling. “It remains a challenge to play at a high level every three days,” Schmidt said at Friday’s press conference. The trainer was also positive about his team. “We have won eight of our last eleven games,” the German calculated. “I can only be satisfied with that.”
RKC:
RKC Waalwijk took two points from its last two games. In view of the power ratio in these competitions, this was actually too little. More was possible on a visit to SC Heerenveen (1-1) and Willem II (1-1). Not for the first time this season, RKC was not too vigorous in the finish in those duels. The result of all this is that although RKC is above the relegation line, they still have to look down with fourteen points from seventeen games in the rankings.
The club management realized that trainer Fred Grim could use some reinforcements. The pond that RKC has to fish from in terms of players is of course not the best in terms of quality. Gambling must be taken, with talents and otherwise unnecessary players. Yassin Oukili came over from Vitesse this week, and later the lease of Thijs Oosting from AZ Alkmaar was announced. It remains to be seen whether these players immediately add something to RKC. A basic place on Saturday does not seem a realistic option for both.
