QPR vs Wigan Prediction & Betting tips
Both the Queens Park Rangers and Wigan Athletic matches ended in 0-3 last Wednesday. For Wigan, however, this result was slightly more favorable than for QPR. A preview of two surprising teams.
Queens Park Rangers:
The results on Loftus Road are starting to be very disappointing at the moment. Queens Park Rangers still has zero points after four games, got thirteen goals and managed to score only twice. Since Reading managed to play against Blackburn Rovers, The R’s are now the only team in the Championship without points. QPR has never lost the first four games of a season in professional football in its history, so QPR coach Steve McClaren enters the history books so early in the season.
After the debacle on a visit to West Brom (7-1), it was now Bristol City that faced the London club. In this competition it became painfully clear that QPR is no longer a shadow of the mid-engine of the past years. Without purchases due to the transfer ban, The Rangers appear to have great difficulty with the level in the Championship. At the end of the evening there was a 0-3 score on the scoreboard. Again no points for McClaren.
Last week an experienced player was added to the selection in the form of Tomer Hemed. The Israeli striker of Brighton & Hove Albion is hired from the Premier League club until the end of the season and has to provide McClaren’s team with goals. The 31-year-old Hemed was able to find the net in 108 matches for Brighton 33 times and eleven times he prepared a goal.
Wigan Athletic:
Frankly, I did not expect Wigan Athletic to stand a good chance of visiting Stoke. On a cold Wednesday night in Stoke-on-Trent, Stoke seemed to me the only team that could take the win. However, nothing turned out to be less true, because Wigan already surprised for the umpteenth time so early in the season. The Potters were beaten 0-3 by The Latics at home. The victory meant that Wigan was already on seven points after four games. With that, Paul Cook’s team occupies the eighth position in the Championship.
Against Stoke were Will Grigg, Nick Powell and Gavin Massey who stole the show. Like last week in the draw against Nottingham Forest, Grigg was able to find the net. This match even the North Irish scored two goals. Massey also scored a goal and gave the assist on one of the two goals of Grigg.
It is now up to Cook to let his players pass this line. Then this can just be a very nice season for the PhD student. After the game in London against Queens Park Rangers, the confrontation with Rotherham United is on the program. This is also a competition in which there are plenty of opportunities for The Latics.
