Reading vs Rotherham Prediction & Betting tips
A giant of a degradation cracker this weekend in Reading. Reading and Rotherham United both have 29 points. The home team is just above the degradation line, Rotherham just below. A look ahead!
Reading:
Last weekend, Reading had the first defeat in five games. After three draws and a win over Blackburn Rovers, 4-0 was lost to visit Sheffield United. The number two of the competition was completed within three quarters of an hour with The Royals. Within the first half it already stood 3-0. In addition, midfielders Ovie Ejaria and Liam Kelly fell out with ankle injuries in Sheffield. It was telling that Jón Dadi Bödvarsson came in the field as a substitute for Ejaria. The Icelandic is naturally a striker and so Gomes tried to make some of the game. However, three minutes after inserting Bödvarsson, the last goal fell and all hope was finally lost.
Gomes was visibly not satisfied after the performance: “We had a very bad day and we played very badly. After the victory over Blackburn Rovers (2-1), I said that we should not cheer too long. Now we should not sit down too long, but recover and prepare for the game with Rotherham United. ”
Rotherham United:
Where Reading managed to win at least once in the past month, Rotherham United has been looking for a victory in the Championship since New Year’s Day. The results have improved slightly in recent weeks, with four draws in the last four matches, but The Millers still have to do with a spot in the last three of the competition.
The last ‘achieved’ draw may also be called extremely absurd. In house, there was a fight against Sheffield Wednesday, the number fifteen of the Championship. After 90 minutes it was 2-1 in favor of the home team and the second victory seemed to have been booked since early November. There were eight minutes of extra time due to a head-injury from Wednesday defender Jordan Thorniley. Surprisingly, referee Darren England allowed to play for two more minutes and in that extremis the 2-2 equalizer of The Owls fell.
Paul Warne, trainer of The Millers, was furious: “I do not know where the extra time came from. During the eight minutes there was no goal and there was no substitution or injury case. I am disappointed in the way the game ends, but proud of our performance. I thought we were excellent. ”
