Real Madrid vs Inter Prediction & Betting tips
Real Madrid and Inter were seen as the favorite favorites for reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League. The Spaniards and the Italians are having a hard time, however, because with one point and two points respectively after two group matches, there is a good chance that one of these two heavyweights will already be killed in the group stage of the European champion ball. So there is an awful lot at stake in this mutual meeting at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano in Madrid.
Real Madrid:
Real Madrid, of course, has a huge track record in the Champions League. With thirteen tournament victories, the Spaniards can rightly call themselves the most successful club in Europe, but this season threatens an inglorious retreat from the European battleground. After the surprising 3-2 defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk and last week’s difficult 2-2 draw at Borussia Mönchengladbach, De Koninklijke is only on a point after two group duels. It is not too late to put things in order, but then there will have to be won against Inter on Tuesday evening.
The main problem of Real Madrid is the volatility, because the formation of trainer Zinedine Zidane still too often falls through the ice. However, the 1-3 win over FC Barcelona, the late comeback against Borussia Mönchengladbach and last weekend’s 4-1 win over Huesca will have given the team confidence. With three goals in his last two games, Karim Benzema is finally free, and Eden Hazard was also allowed to cheer for the first time in 392 days last Saturday. So slowly but surely things are going back in the right direction with Real Madrid, although Zidane is well aware that he absolutely cannot afford a defeat on Tuesday evening.
Inter:
Inter is also in group B of the Champions League with the baked pears. The Italian football giant had to settle for a draw both when visiting Borussia Mönchengladbach (2-2) and at home against Shakhtar Donetsk (0-0), so that it is only on two points after two rounds of play. The Nerazzurri have to win at least once in the next two duels against Real Madrid, otherwise wintering in the European ball of millions threatens to become a difficult story.
However, with only one win from the last six official games, Inter is struggling with its form. Last weekend, the club from Milan narrowly averted a defeat at home against Parma thanks to a striking header in injury time from Ivan Perisic: 2-2. The pressure is therefore increasing for trainer Antonio Conte, who will hope and pray that he will have Romelu Lukaku again on Tuesday evening. The Belgian attack leader sustained a muscle injury against Shakhtar Donetsk last week and is therefore a big question mark for the squatter against Real Madrid, while Alexis Sanchez and Milan Skriniar are also in doubt.
