Roda vs Waalwijk Prediction & Betting tips
After Roda managed to break through a long series without a win with a home win at the bottom of the line, now RKC Waalwijk comes to visit, who in turn managed to beat FC Twente.
Roda JC:
Roda JC finally won again last Monday. After six games without a win last Monday, league-leader Jong FC Utrecht was beaten. However, this caused little cheers. Roda won with the greatest possible effort against a team that had only taken one point since December and fell behind. Thanks to an easily given penalty (there was actually nothing wrong), utilized by Mario Engels and a header goal from Mitchel Paulissen, Eric van der Luer managed to win for the first time. However, the evening also had a low point: only 3500 spectators attended the match, the lowest number since the opening of the Parkstad Limburg Stadium.
Roda is currently tenth due to the win and is the last team to participate in the play-offs in the current ranking. However, there are several teams on the fin rope, so Roda still needs quite a few points to secure the season ticket. With a win over direct competitor RKC, the team does very good business.
This will in any case have to happen without defenders Daryl Werker and Niels Verburgh. The pair took their fifth yellow card of the season against Jong FC Utrecht and will have to watch next Friday. Richard Jensen has been eliminated for the rest of the season with a knee injury, which means Van der Luer will have to puzzle in the rear.
RKC:
RKC Waalwijk has been working hard in recent months to secure a spot in the play-offs. The Waalwijkers started 2019 with five victories in a row, but only one point in the four matches that followed. Hereafter, the team picked up again, as three of the last four games were won.
Especially the 1-4 victory in Maastricht of three weeks ago and the victory over FC Twente last Monday made an impression. In its own Mandemakers Stadium, FC Twente, which had won no less than fourteen times in the previous fifteen games and had played a draw once, was treated to a hefty defeat. In the first half, former FC Twente player Dylan Seys was the big man with an assist on the opening goal by Mario Bilate and the second goal. In the second half, the Tukkers came back via Cantalapiedra, but in the absolute final phase, Fred Grim’s team went up to 4-1 via an own goal from Ricardinho and a final chord from Darren Maatsen.
