Scotland vs Kazakhstan Prediction & Betting tips
At Hampden Park in Glasgow, Scotland and Kazakhstan will play their final match of this European Championship qualifying series on Tuesday evening. Both countries have been eliminated in Group I for quite some time, so apart from the sporting honor nothing is at stake.
Scotland:
For Scotland, a disastrous European Championship qualifying series finally comes on Tuesday evening. The Tartan Army was never a threat to Belgium and Russia, the undisputed numbers one and two in group I. Actually it went wrong right from the start with a shameful 3-0 defeat in the Kazakh capital of Astana, what the departure of the then national coach Alex McLeish.
Scotland has something to set right on Tuesday evening, although according to national coach Steve Clarke there are no revense feelings: ‘I am not the type that wants revenge. We just want to win because we want to be third in this group, and because we want to work towards the playoffs of March next year with three wins in a row. ” After two victories in a row, the Scots have regained some color on their cheeks, although of course they were not particularly strong opponents with San Marino (6-0) and Cyprus (1-2). These encounters, however, were called, because Scottish self-confidence had reached an absolute low point after previous disgraces against Belgium (home: 0-4) and Russia (from: 4-0). However, on Tuesday evening Clarke again has no strongholds Andrew Robertson (Liverpool) and Scott McTominay (Manchester United). The Scottish hope is therefore mainly based on Ryan Christie (Celtic) and John McGinn (Aston Villa), who were responsible for the Scottish goal production against Cyprus.
Kazakhstan:
Kazakhstan was also unable to break pots in this European Championship qualifying series. The 3-0 victory was, of course, a sporting highlight, but apart from two victories at the tiny San Marino and a draw at Cyprus, the country barely showed much. National coach Michal Bilek is nonetheless delighted: “We can still be third in group I. That would be an absolute top performance.”
The selection of Kazakhstan in any case does not appeal to the imagination. The only two players who may have a bell ringing at you are midfielder Yan Vorogovskiy and attacker Baktiyar Zaynutdinov, who play for Beerschot and Rostov respectively. The rest of the players are all still active in their own Kazakh Premier League, a competition that of course does not represent much. The Kazakh balance sheet is not a source of fear either, as last weekend’s 1-3 victory at San Marino – the final of the FIFA world ranking – marked the first victory in more than a year and a half.
