Sheffield Utd vs Bournemouth Prediction & Betting tips
On Sunday afternoon, the meeting between Sheffield United and AFC Bournemouth is scheduled on Bramall Lane. Both teams won their game in the Premier League last weekend and therefore have the necessary confidence!
Sheffield United:
Sheffield United is currently in sixth place in the Premier League. It is sometimes forgotten that Sheffield United finished number two in the Championship last season and is currently active as a PhD candidate in the Premier League. All the better that Chris Wilder is so highly ranked with Sheffield United, that one should think of European rather than relegation football. With a win over AFC Bournemouth, The Blades even finish in fifth place in the Premier League this weekend.
Last weekend, Sheffield United recorded a 0-1 win when visiting Crystal Palace. A week earlier, Sheffield United also won in the FA Cup with a 0-2 score against Millwall, so with confidence Wilder’s team is doing well. The last home game that Sheffield United played was lost for The Blades. At the time, Manchester City was 0-1 too strong for Wilder’s formation, but that is of course no disaster. Sheffield United remained unbeaten in five of the last six games and that shows something of course. An advantage that Wilder has is that he has a relatively fit selection: apart from David McGoldrick, everyone is fit for the duel with AFC Bournemouth.
AFC Bournemouth:
For AFC Bournemouth, every point in an away match is one bonus point at the moment. The Cherries lost six of the last seven away games in the Premier League and are not the top favorite for victory on Bramall Lane. Partly due to the poor performance in the last away matches, we are currently back in Bournemouth in 16th place in the Premier League. Although the Cherries are still above the relegation line, Eddie Howe still has to worry somewhat with Bournemouth.
Howe has almost the same player group as last season. At the time, Bournemouth finished in 14th place. This season, however, The Cherries have to deal with a lot of injuries and that was evident in the results in recent months. Also against Sheffield United Howe must again miss a lot of players. He had to do that last weekend as well: Bournemouth was able to win 2-1 against competitor Aston Villa. Jefferson Lerma ran into two yellow cards in those games and therefore misses Sunday afternoon’s game.
