Slavia Prague vs Barcelona Prediction & Betting tips
For the fans of Slavia Prague the fall of 2019 must seem like a dream. The Czech champions are certainly among the biggest outsiders in the current Champions League season, but got for it highly attractive opponents zugelost. Only three weeks after the highlight home game against Borussia Dortmund, which was lost 2-0, comes next Wednesday now the big FC Barcelona in the Eden Arena.
It certainly requires no two opinions, in order to avoid the duel Slavia Prague. Barcelona to justify the odds of bookmakers. Of course, the Catalans go as a big favorite in the game, although the team of coach Unai Emery in the course of the season so far, time and again much harder than expected.
Nevertheless, the difference in terms of quality and experience speak a clear language in favor of the Southern Europeans, who after four matchdays in Group F, similar to leaders Borussia Dortmund, four counters in the account. Slavia, meanwhile, is in a counter that was bagged at Inter Milan on Matchday 1 (1: 1).
Although the Czechs last offered a decent performance against BVB and possibly even deserved a draw, it became apparent that Jindrich Tripsovsky’s team is currently still paying a lot of training money at the highest European level.
For this reason, we predict between Slavia Prague and Barcelona that only a tip in favor of Blaugrana will pay off. A success of the guests with at least two goals difference seems obvious anyway.
Slavia Prague:
Probably only a handful of experts would have given Slavia Prague any chance of winning even one point from their six games against Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund and FC Barcelona before the start of the group stage in the Champions League.
This internal goal, logically not proclaimed minimum goal reached the Czech champions on the first matchday. At Inter Milan, the Tripsovsky-Elf was even up to the final minute with 1: 0 forward, but had to accept in the literally very last second actually the bitter equal to 1: 1.
Two weeks later, the Red and Whites finally lost the first home game against Borussia Dortmund, although the equal favorite guest from Germany was again equal over long distances and with a little more efficiency again something countable could take.
So Slavia is but with a point there and, if the first round in the club’s history, the first knockout round of the premier class is to be achieved, landing on Wednesday evening, at best, a surprise coup.
Really realistic does not seem this endeavor, however, because once you close the two playoff matches in the qualifier against Cluj (1-0, 1-0), the Prague are just a single full sense of achievement in the past 17 Champions League games (eight draws, eight failures).
Positive is to emphasize that the reigning national champion before home crowd is certainly something to assess more. Only two of the recent nine home games at European level have been lost. In five other cases, the bourgeois club of intellectuals, so at least the reputation of the capital club, the “white vest”.
However, it should be remembered that most of these matches took place in early qualifying rounds and that the opponents logically did not have the caliber of Borussia Dortmund or FC Barcelona.
When it comes to self-confidence, the team that has its leader in Tomas Soucek must not hide either. In the league Prague celebrated eleven wins in 13 games. As losers, the red-whites did not even leave the field at the national level.
As leaders with now six points ahead, the prospects are good to defend the title from 2018/2019. At our Slavia Prague vs. Dortmund prognosis changes the strong condition on lower level however nothing. Personnel failures have coach Tripsovsky not to complain. So he can send the best team to the pitch.
Barcelona:
FC Barcelona is slowly but surely returning to normal form. After a bumpy start in which the Catalans stumbled unusually often and did not radiate the usual dominance in ball possession, voted in the last few weeks, at least the results again.
The youngest five competitive games have all won the Blaugrana for themselves. Were the successes against Villarreal (2: 1), Getafe (2: 0) or Inter Milan (2: 1) still rather scarce and lackluster nature, now seems to finally return to the joy of playing. Before the international break Barca left the Sevilla FC in the top match at 4: 0 no chance and also the first away game after the break was won 3-0 in Eibar.
Due to the small intermediate sprint, the team of coach Unai Emery has taken over the top of La Liga. Barca is also by far the most dangerous attack with nine goals scored in nine games (almost four per game).
Five out of six successes at national level came with at least two goals advantage, which is an additional argument in favor of our Slavia Prag vs. Prague. Barcelona tip serves.
However, the responsible of the multiple Henkel pot winner should be thinking that only four of the youngest 14 away games in the premier class could be won (six draws, four defeats).
Overall, the balance reads much more impressive, because in total only two of the past 25 encounters in the most important European club competition were lost (15 wins, eight draws).
From a tactical point of view, we have no doubt that the favorite from southern Europe will take the initiative right from the start. The aim of the Catalan will be to let opponents and ball run, if necessary, to exploit the ongoing fatigue of the outsider with continuous playing time.
So even if there should be a draw at halftime, which can never be ruled out at this level, we would force live bets on Barca’s handicap success.
With the exception of Sergi Roberto, coach Unai Emery can draw on everything. Normally, the coach would have certainly taken some consideration for the planned “Clásico” on the weekend, but the hate duel against Real Madrid was postponed due to the unrest in the Catalan metropolis in the December. The Blaugrana must therefore spare no power and can 90 minutes full throttle.
