Smolevichi vs Din. Minsk Prediction & Betting tips
The ball is still rolling in the Belarusian Vysshaya League and this weekend the sixth matchday is already on the program. Due to the increased international interest, the matchdays are now “picked apart” and all eight games are kicked off at a different time.
The matchday will open on Friday afternoon with the duel between promoted Smolevichi and Dinamo Minsk.
The league returnee is currently still having great problems finding his way in the Belarusian football upper house and is still waiting for the first win of the season. The guests from the capital are not bursting with confidence after a mixed start to the season, but are nevertheless seen as a clear favorite by the best bookmakers on the market. The game starts in the late Friday afternoon at 16 p.m.
Smolevichi:
FK Smolevichi is an association that was only founded in 2009 and has nevertheless experienced some ups and downs in the past decade. The club arrived in the second division in 2013. Four years later, the first ascent succeeded and the “elevator journey” began. The relegation was followed by direct relegation in 2018, in order to return to the Belarusian football upper house last year.
Although the ascent had to go straight back in 2018 with just 24 points and only five wins of the season, there were no quick actions on the part of those responsible for the club. The club management held on to head coach Alexandr Brazevich and was rewarded with the promotion in the previous year. In the Pershaja Liga there were 19 wins in 28 games, seven draws and just two losses. The direct ascent was four points behind Belshina.
Not only was the offensive strong (60 goals in 28 games), but the defensive was particularly convincing day by day. Goalkeeper Artem Gomelko only conceded a total of 15 goals.
Usually, promoters often start with euphoria and can surprise with good results, especially at the beginning of the season. At FK Smolevichi, however, this has not been the case so far, because the difference between the first and second league cannot be denied. It turns out early on that the relegation battle will be a constant companion for the Brazevich team in the 2020 calendar year.
In each of the first five league games, the promoted team missed the win. Two defeats face a total of three draws. Last weekend, Smolevichi saved the point win in added time with Belshina (also still without a win) in added time thanks to a penalty and thus prevented the relapse to the last place in the table.
Dinamo Minsk:
There are a few disappointed faces in Belarusian football these days. Usually there is a clear performance difference and the top teams are clearly above the rest of the league. The first games in the calendar year 2020 do not underline this picture, however, and the “big ones” are often unusually weak. This applies not only to Master Dinamo Brest or long-time dominator BATE Borisov, but also to Dinamo Minsk.
The capital city eleven has been extremely constant in recent years and has never reached a place outside the top four since the disappointing eighth place in the 2007 calendar year. Again and again the club was able to present itself on the international stage – briefly – and played in the qualification of the UEFA Europa League. However, the Belarusians will not be given this honor in 2020, as Dinamo Minsk finished fourth in the previous year with a respectable gap of 15 points. Brest, Borisov and Soligorsk were significantly stronger.
The club management was not particularly satisfied with the large gap to the competition. However, there was no improvement in the first games of the season and head coach Sergey Gurenko, who had been in the club in various positions for tens of years, had to vacate his chair. It didn’t even benefit him that his team celebrated a 2-0 home win over Neman Grodno last weekend.
The second win of the season is already facing three defeats. With only six points, Dinamo Minsk is currently only in eleventh place in the table service betting base. An absolutely disappointing result for the traditional club. With the 60-year-old Leonid Kuchuk, the club management hopes for improvement and a successful debut on Friday afternoon. As is well known, new brooms sweep well, and since the capital city elf is undoubtedly of a much higher quality, between Smolevichi and Dinamo Minsk we consider the prognosis for the guests to be quite lucrative.
