Spal vs Juventus Prediction & Betting tips
Juventus plays between the Champions League matches against low flyer SPAL. With a draw or win, the championship is already in for Juve and it is the fastest champion in Italy ever. However, it will not take place at full strength since the cup with the big ears has priority. Can SPAL benefit from this?
SPAL:
SPAL managed to win three games in a row in the battle against relegation. They won 2-1 against AS Roma in-house. After a 1-0 score at halftime, the Romans scored the tying run from a penalty, but Andrea Petagna was allowed to make the winning from a penalty moments later. Subsequently, Frosinone won 0-1, making it almost impossible to escape relegation. Midweeks also won from Lazio, again Petagna was the match winner by a penalty kick just in time.
This wonderful series came to an end in the away match against Cagliari last weekend. Cagliari was much stronger in the second half, in particular, SPAL barely created any good chances. Once again the Ferrara team was awarded a penalty, but in the end it turned out not to be enough for at least one point (2-1).
The team of coach Leonardo Semplici is still two places above the relegation line and has a four-point lead over Empoli, where it will visit next weekend. Semplici is entering these important final weeks of the competition with an almost fit selection, only defender Vasco Regini and attacker Sergio Floccari have not yet recovered 100% from injuries.
Juventus:
In the run-up to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Juve didn’t get an easy warm-up, as AC Milan came to visit. Krzysztof Piatek scored the 0-1 on behalf of the Milanese before half-time after he missed a big chance. Only late in the first half were there good chances for Juventus, so Milan goalkeeper Reina could just turn a beautiful blow from Mario Mandzukic. In the second half, there were chances back and forth until Musacchio slid into an unnecessary place in the penalty area and thus gave away a penalty. This violation was made on Paolo Dybala, who also hit the penalty shot himself. Coach Allegri likes to keep his pupil Moise Kean in the lee, but even at raid he is decisive. This time he made the 2-1 after Miralem Pjanic saved the overview.
De Oude Dame continued the million-dollar ball with the away match against Ajax. Juve missed a large number of players due to injuries and has only just returned a number of players after months of absence (Khedira, Douglas Costa), but will be particularly pleased that Cristiano Ronaldo was recovered in time to appear at the kickoff. The Portuguese did not appear often in the game but managed to make the important goal just before the break.
This weekend Ronaldo will of course get some rest, also for the just fit Mandzukic again. Moise Kean will again be at the point of the attack and the returned Douglas Costa will probably get another chance. He was very dangerous in Amsterdam and hit the post in the final phase.
