St. Liege vs Anderlecht Prediction & Betting tips
On Wednesday evening Standard receives the rival from Brussels for the Classico. Is Standard in the wake of Anderlecht? Or can Anderlecht put Club Bruges under complete pressure?
St. Liege :
Standard does not seem to resign after winning the cup final. They are fully in the second place. They are on six points from Anderlecht but let that be the next opponent. Without pressure the team seems to give the best of themselves. If strong holders like Paul Mpoku are back out of an injury then the competition only gets bigger and this is only in favor of the Rouches. If they do not play a champion themselves, they will definitely be decisive in this fight.
Standard also won its second home game of play-off 1. Against AA Gent, it spilled the odds, especially in the second half, but in the last round, Emond de Rouches gave three gold points from the spot. Ricardo Sa Pinto surprised in his basic eleven by dropping the barely 18-year-old Zinho Vanheusden. Standard won from the Buffalo’s but there was something to do around the showy dive in the penalty in the penalty area.
Zinho Vanheusden was dropped from nothing against AA Gent in the basic team of St. Liege. Standard coach Sa Pinto did not save his praise afterwards. ‘I’m proud of him. He played the perfect match. It is not so much physical, especially about tactics. He understands that well. On training, he showed what you want to see as a coach of an 18-year-old. If at such an age, without rhythm, after that serious injury, you play such an adult game … ‘With this achievement Vanheusden applied for a new base in the clasico against Anderlecht.
Anderlecht :
It was already in the air before the match, as the Anderlecht fans were carrying on: RSCA would stand up. Again. And purple-white did that too. With suddenly, however, excellent and dominant football. Trainer Hein Vanhaezebrouck also saw that his strong keepers had finally got up. Especially coach Vanhaezebrouck did his utmost best after the match to keep the title chances of Anderlecht having risen sharply.
Anderlecht played last weekend against leader Club Brugge. A lot of opportunity was created by the home team. In between it was startled for a ball on the visitors’ pole. After half time, Anderlecht quickly took the lead after a stationary phase. The defamation of the Club was punished. Anderlecht let Club come and this was almost fatal. A visiting goal was rightly rejected, albeit narrowly, for offside. Afterwards, the substitutes left Anderlecht to finish the job on the counter.
Lazar Markovic, the former wonderboy of Serbian football, was for the rest a scourge for the Bruges defense and made the audience kirren of the fun at times. “I feel good at this club,” said Liverpool’s mercenary. “It’s a pleasure to be able to play here.” Markovic conditionally is not yet 100 percent, after the break. ‘I am not yet at my best level. But that’s coming soon. ”
