Twente vs Ajax Prediction & Betting tips
The Dutch Eredivisie is extremely tight. Everything looked as if Ajax Amsterdam would steer unhindered towards the 35th national championship. Of their last five league games, the Godenzonen have only won two more games. With Arnhem, Eindhoven and Feyenoord, three teams are now within reach to overtake Ajax if they lose another point.
Although the Godenzonen played only draws twice in a row, the odds of the bookmakers clearly turned towards the guests in the run-up to the match between Twente and Ajax Amsterdam, as the odds comparison of the betting base shows.
It can be stated, however, that one of the only two lost league games by Ajax Amsterdam is due to the Tukkers. Twente Enschede celebrated a 2-1 away win in the Johan Cruyff Arena on December 5, 2020 and already showed a month ago that the Godenzonen are by no means unbeatable.
Judging by the fact that Ajax had no win in the last two league games in a row, we see a lot of value in betting on another point win for the Tukkers.
Twente :
FC Twente Enschede has been through a lot over the past decade. The former UEFA Cup finalist in 1975 celebrated his only second national championship in 2010, but was relegated from the Eredivisie in summer 2018.
The Tukkers succeeded in the return of the post. The fact that they were able to stay in the top Dutch league was ultimately due to the end of the season. The relegation was suspended, which came in handy for the club, which was only one point ahead of the relegation place.
The traditional club took advantage of the league stay, which was arranged early on at the green table, to question all positions in the squad. An experienced man, Ron Jans, was installed in the dugout. In a playful way, many great talents were brought to the east of the country by loan contract.
Including 21-year-old Danilo from Ajax Amsterdam, who with eleven goals and five other assists was involved in more than half of all 30 Tukkers league goals. A player from the god zones also provides the necessary stability on the defensive. Under defense chief Kiki Pierie, the Reds only conceded 19 goals.
Accordingly, Enschede has only lost four of the 15 league games played and can currently even dream of a return to international show business. According to the current status, the Tukkers would take part in the qualifying rounds for the Europa League as sixth in the table. Should this really succeed and one or the other loan player could then be taken over permanently, the re-establishment would have been successful after turbulent years.
Ajax Amsterdam :
After winning the championship in summer 2019, Ajax Amsterdam made great strides towards the title again last season. Because of the end of the season, the title was ultimately not awarded. As the first in the table, the Godenzonen were allowed to represent the Eredivisie in the Champions League.
There, however, Ajax did not get beyond third place behind Liverpool and Bergamo in a difficult group. In just over a month, the capitals will continue in the second round of the Europa League against OSC Lille.
In the meantime, the foundation should be laid at the national level to end another season in first place. For a long time, it looked as if Erik ten Hag’s selection, which scored 27 out of 30 possible points from the first ten league games, could walk unhindered through the league.
But then only eight out of 15 other points were added from the last five league games. The Godenzonen won only two more games and lost, among other things, the home game against today’s opponent Twente.
Most recently, at the end of 2020, the capitals did not get beyond a 1-1 draw at Willem II Tilburg before the start of the calendar year 2021 did not bring a three. At home against PSV Eindhoven, the Godenzonen were already 2-0 down and were just able to save themselves to the 2-2 draw, with which they defended their lead in the standings very narrowly.
It is all the less a sure thing to hint at the away win of Erik ten Hag’s team at Twente against Ajax Amsterdam. Winter newcomer Sébastian Haller provides new options on the offensive. With only two wins from the last five league games, momentum in the camp of the white-reds is currently difficult to speak of.
