Verona vs Genoa Prediction & Betting tips
Genoa is slowly recovering from the COVID-19 outbreak in the selection, the international break came very convenient for them. This weekend they will visit Hellas Verona, who won 3-0 in August in a very debatable final match, where Verona did not show much commitment and Genoa maintained its position.
Hellas Verona:
Quite a few strong players have left Hellas, including Sofyan Amrabat, Adam Rrahmani and Marash Kumbulla have left the team. It would therefore be very clever if they end up against the left row again. What became clear in the first matches is that the gialloblu lacks scoring ability. 0-0 was played against AS Roma in the opening weekend. Later this was turned into a regulatory 3-0 win as Roma didn’t have the player lists in order and the man who made the mistake happened to leave for Hellas. Then they won 1-0 against Udinese and lost 1-0 against Parma. Last season, the goals were quite divided among the selection, nine players scored at least three goals, but only Samuel di Carmine and Matteo Pessina slightly exceeded them with eight and seven hits respectively. Pessina has since returned to Atalanta – the club that rented him out – while Di Carmine is recovering from an injury. The question is therefore who should score the goals for Ivan Juric’s team next Monday.
Genoa:
Genoa has been by far the hardest hit by the coronavirus of all teams in the Serie A. At the end of September there were already 15 positive tests within the selection and that number only increased. At the worst, seventeen players and five staffers were infected. During that period there was played against Napoli and it was therefore not surprising that a few players were subsequently tested positive for the team from Naples. Eight players have now been declared clean after they have been tested negative twice, including Mattia Perin, Filippo Melegoni and Miha Zajc are expected back in the base this weekend.
Due to the many absentees, the match between Torino and Genoa in the weekend before the international break was canceled. Sporting director Daniele Faggiano indicated last week that the team with the youth team should play against Verona, but that does not seem to be the case.
