Verona vs Udinese Prediction & Betting tips
The new season is also finally starting for Udinese. They kick off with an away match at Hellas Verona, which this week got two points in the lap in a curious way.
Hellas Verona:
Hellas Verona was the biggest surprise of the past season. Ivan Juric’s team ended up in the left row upon their return to the highest level and showed good football from time to time. This season, the Croatian coach will face an even greater challenge as the best players have left. Midfielder Sofyan Amrabat was voted player of the season at Verona and left for Fiorentina, defender Amir Rrahmani’s lease expired and great talent Maresh Kumbulla was taken over by AS Roma last week.
In the first round, Hellas faced AS Roma where Kumbulla sat on the bench for ninety minutes. Verona had the best chances in the first half and should have taken the lead via attacker Lubomir Tupta after half an hour of play. The 22-year-old Slovak managed to find the target no less than 17 times in 16 youth matches in the 2016/2017 season and now has the chance at the highest level after being loaned to Wisla Krakow last season. Acquisition Adrien Tameze from Nice and defender Federico Dimarco were also close to the opening goal, both hit the bar. The game therefore ended in a bloodless 0-0. However, good news followed last Tuesday. Because AS Roma had drawn up a player who was not eligible to play, Verona was awarded a 3-0 victory and the season was thus kicked off with a three-pointer.
Udinese:
Between 2010 and 2013, Udinese was on the rise, finishing fourth, third and fifth in the competition. Under the leadership of top scorer Antonio Di Natala, Udinese was a regular participant in the Europa League at the time. Since then, the team from Udine has been a permanent fixture in the right row, where it often has to fear relegation until shortly before the end of the season.
This also seems to be the fate of the zebrette this season. Thomas Ouwejan (AZ) and Tolgay Arslan (Fenerbahce), among others, were recruited, but it is questionable whether they are the necessary reinforcements. Udinese did manage to keep Rodrigo De Paul until now. The 26-year-old Argentinian is by far the most important player in coach Luca Gotti’s team and is the focus of attention from Leeds United and AS Roma. Leeds seems to have already made an offer of thirty million euros for the midfielder, which is said to cost about 35 million euros. Should De Paul still leave, it could well be a very tough season in Eastern Italy.
