Waregem vs Club Brugge KV Prediction & Betting tips
Again Zulte-Waregem can prepare itself for a West-Flemish duel. For example, Club Brugge leader comes to visit on Wednesday. An extremely interesting duel because Zulte-Waregem is very busy and it is in a shared sixth place. Club Brugge shows less strong and force majeure and it is questionable whether they can also beat Zulte-Waregem. Club managed to win everything on the move so far. Will that also work on Wednesday?
Zulte Waregem:
After two defeats after two match days, Zulte-Waregem did not start well. In the following ten games, Zulte-Waregem was able to gather nineteen points, bringing them so close to the top six. The objective at Zulte-Waregem is therefore to compete for the last play-off I ticket and it is succeeding for the time being. Last weekend the KV Oostende received a visit. With a win, Zulte did an excellent job and (even) climbed the top six.
For the second weekend in a row, Zulte Waregem played a West-Flemish game. Last week it still lost at Kortrijk, causing it to fall a handsome series of eight league matches without defeat. Opponent Ostend has been waiting for a new victory since the end of August. Even before the first ten minutes had passed, it was Ostend that showed itself for the first time. Hjuslager got the ball from the unselfish Bataille and unexpectedly kicked from a sharp angle, but Bossut stood firm. The home goalkeeper had to show himself again in the half hour when he was face to face with the fast-paced Fashion Sakala. There were no more points of light in a very weak first half. Those who hoped for improvement after the break were disappointed. Bossut got away well after five minutes when he kicked Canesin’s full back, but after half an hour it was hard to see. The supporters could only make themselves heard when their players ended another umpteenth pass in the feet of the opponent or over the line. Just when the match seemed to be a measure for nothing, a goal suddenly fell from the sky ten minutes before the end. Of course, the boom-long Seck was not followed on a free kick, as a result of which the Senegalese nodded gratefully the 1-0 past Dutoit. Ostend could not object to that and in the end swallowed a second goal. Substitute Larin put the ball right back on Govea, who tapped the ball to Bruno through poor control – how could it be otherwise. A canopy and a kick later it was 2-0, in a competition that in many areas only deserved a zero.
Francky Dury saw his team struggle for eighty minutes before the redemption fell. “I haven’t seen a good first half. During the break we made some adjustments, but there was not enough initiative from the attacking players. In the end, the victory went to the team that believed in it the most. ”A difficult game, though, according to Dury, it was also up to the opponent. “KV Oostende has two out of eighteen and then you know that they will not open up and watch for attacks in the switch.” Davy De fauw also saw a lesser game, but immediately looked ahead. “I can believe that it was not a pleasant match for a neutral spectator and even for our supporters. You also have to win these matches and now a nice game is coming against Club Brugge. They are certainly in shape and we would like to take some points away from them. ”
Club Brugge:
Before the season started, there was only one real title favorite and that was Club Brugge. Anderlecht was also talked about due to their high-profile transfers, but Club was actually the only one. Standard did fall under the contenders, but otherwise it did not. After eleven games played, Club can look back on an almost perfect report with eight wins and three draws. Last week their closest follower Standard came to visit.
After a catchy tribute to Club legend Raoul Lambert, who turned seventy-five last week, it was surprisingly not the home team, but Standard that took over the game. Already after five minutes Lestienne Bastien guided through the blue-black defense, the striker put the 0-1 neatly beside Mignolet in goal. With an early goal in his pocket, Standard was able to retreat to the own half in a compact formation. Club Brugge therefore had a lot of ball possession, but found few or no openings in the red armor. That stalemate remained on the field for almost the entire first half, resulting in an absolute minimum of scoring opportunities. With the peace in sight, Standard finally came out of his hedgehog position and that almost resulted in a second goal. Obbi Oulare left two excellent chances in the 0-2. After a (suspected) thunder sermon and a double substitution by Clement, Club started with a completely different face in the second half. Substitute Balanta sent Vormer in-depth, and with his 8th assist of the season, Okereke offered the tying run. Club did not settle for a point division and tried to secure Standard in its own half. However, the pressing of the home team was not very impressive, among other things due to a pale performance by game distributor Hans Vanaken. The number of opportunities was therefore again limited. The home team still threatened with long shots from Diagne and Diatta, but Standard goalkeeper Bodart never really ran into problems again. At Standard, too, the sharpness was gone in the second half. The substitute Avenatti was once again unable to convince. This disappointing topper remained at 1-1.
Philippe Clement was anything but satisfied with what his team brought in the first half. “During the break I got very angry about a lot of things. I am happy about the reaction in the second half. Then my players showed why they are in first place. Only it is a shame that we could no longer make that second goal. ” Remarkable though, the double change of Clement at half-time, after the injured Mata had already been replaced. “No blame on the boys who were taken off during the rest, because they have given a lot in recent weeks,” Clement clarifies. “But that shows once again that it is important to be able to rotate at the right times. I thought a number of boys were less fresh today. They should have indicated that in advance. Then we could have made other choices. There we will this week. ”
