Watford vs Chelsea Prediction & Betting tips
Toboggan wearer Watford receives Chelsea on Saturday evening. The visitors from London won their last four games in the Premier League and are also the top favorite on Vicarage Road to grab three points!
Watford:
With five points from ten games, Watford is only at the bottom of the Premier League. The Hornets have two points less than Norwich City, which is above Watford, and the backlog in safe seventeenth place is four points. It is certainly not the case that Quique Sanchez Flores is in hopeless position with Watford, but it is not ideal either. Last season, Huddersfield Town finished last in the Premier League and Huddersfield clearly had fewer qualities than the other clubs, but that is absolutely not the case with Watford.
At the moment, Watford is just in the corner where the blows fall. And more importantly: Watford has not won a single game in the Premier League and then it will indeed be to get rid of that last place. The last three games of Watford all ended in a draw for The Hornets and Watford did not get along well with that. This week, Watford was also eliminated in the Carabao Cup by Everton (2-0) and with confidence, things are not going too well at Watford at the moment.
Chelsea:
While Watford did not win a single game in the Premier League, the Chelsea counter is already in six victories in ten games. The Blues started the season disappointingly and clearly had to get used to Frank Lampard’s approach, but the Englishman did get Chelsea to play football in less than three months. Lampard gives – partly forced – young talent the opportunity at the former club and that has so far only been positive.
This week Chelsea was eliminated in the Carabao Cup, just like Watford. Manchester United was the opponent on Stamford Bridge and The Blues eventually went down with 1-2 against The Red Devils. A small disappointment for Lampard and his men, but they won’t be very sad at Chelsea either. The Blues can now focus fully on the Premier League and on winning the Europa League in the coming weeks, because qualifying for the Champions League is much more important for a club like Chelsea than success in the Carabao Cup.
