West Ham vs Crystal Palace Prediction & Betting tips
A London derby is scheduled for Saturday night in London: West Ham United is visited by fellow citizen Crystal Palace. Both teams are fully engaged in the Premier League and hope to be able to continue the current series with good results in the eighth round.
West Ham United:
West Ham United is in fifth place in the Premier League and The Hammers can therefore be satisfied with the first seven games. Of course, Manuel Pellegrini has an excellent group of players at his disposal with which he must be able to throw a high profile, but few people expected that West Ham United would be above Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester United after seven games. The Hammers only lost one game this season and that was the opening game with Manchester City: 0-5. However, such a defeat can happen to any team in the Premier League and in the subsequent games, West Ham United has recovered well.
Last week the East Londoners grabbed a point to visit AFC Bournemouth: 2-2. West Ham United took the lead early in the Vitality Stadium by a nice goal from Andriy Yarmolenko, who beautifully turned away from Nathan Aké and then passed the Bournemouth goalkeeper. Later in the game, West Ham United, which appears to be defensively vulnerable, had to take two goals and it was Aaron Cresswell who finally gave West Ham United a draw on a visit to Bournemouth. Absolutely not a bad result for West Ham United, but Pellegrini might have hoped for more. The Chilean saw that first goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański dropped out in the first half with a hip injury and the Pole is out for at least three months. Roberto Jiménez is therefore under the bar at West Ham United in the coming months.
Crystal Palace:
For Crystal Palace, a period has arrived in which it is certainly not inconceivable that The Eagles will score few points. On Saturday-evening, Roy Hodgson’s team will face West Ham United at the London Stadium and the opponents in the coming weeks are not too tender for Crystal Palace. With Manchester City-home, Arsenal-out, Leicester City-home, Chelsea-out and Liverpool-home as upcoming games, it is certainly not unthinkable that The Eagles will score few points. In fact, if everything goes wrong, Palace could remain scoreless in all those games.
Of course they hope at Crystal Palace that they will score some points against all those opponents, but if that does not happen then that is not a disaster either. The formation of Hodgson is neatly in ninth place in the Premier League with eleven points from seven games and that makes The Eagles the most pleasant. Crystal Palace played the last two games in the Premier League in-house and The Eagles had four points left for those duels. About two weeks ago, South Londoners played 1-1 draws against Wolverhampton in-house, while Norwich City was beaten 2-0 at Selhurst Park last weekend. Against the PhD student, Luka Milivojević took his fifth yellow card of the season and the midfielder has been suspended this weekend.
