Wigan vs Norwich Prediction & Betting tips
Round 42 of the Championship ends with the game between Wigan Athletic and Norwich City. The situation of these two teams is completely different. Norwich is heading for the title and Wigan is trying hard to prevent relegation to the League One. Looking ahead!
Wigan Athletic:
A visit to Hull City left Wigan Athletic a very important point just in time. The Latics traveled to KCOM Stadium last Wednesday and took the lead just before half-time via Nick Powell. The 25-year-old former striker of Manchester United made his seventh goal of the season and is thus the top scorer of Wigan this season. In away matches, Wigan plays dramatically and so a small stunt seemed to arise in Hull. However, the Paul Cook team did not hold onto the lead (again). The equalizer fell early in the second half and just before the end The Tigers took the lead. Because of the defeat, Wigan still has only booked one victory outside of the 21 draws.
Wigan coach Cook: “Is this a disappointment? A deja vu? You can call it what you want, this is just how we are. The defeats are not due to our tactics, attitude or whatever. It is the individual errors that break us up. “Wigan is now 21st due to the defeat and is only two points away from the relegation zone. Last season’s PhD student is waiting for five incredibly important rounds in which enforcement is the ultimate goal.
Norwich City:
Norwich City was surprised by Reading last Wednesday as it itself surprised many a team this season. In fact, The Canaries faced a backlog until the 85th minute and seemed to lose a game for the first time since the beginning of February. Miraculeus, however, scored in both the 86th and the 88th minutes, making Norwich appear to be beating another team in the final minutes of a game. However, nothing turned out to be less true. In the sixth (!) Minute of the extra time, it was Reading that scored the equalizer, meaning that not Norwich, but The Royals had the final say on Carrow Road.
In principle, Norwich City does not have to worry about the point loss against Reading. The lead over the competitors for the title is still great and with only five games ahead, The Canaries seem to be sure of promotion to the Premier League next season.
Also on a visit to Wigan, Daniel Farke still has to do without a taste-maker Emiliano Buendía. The Argentinian was replaced by Todd Cantwell against Norwich City. The young Englishman, however, could not make too much impression as a basic player and Norwich had it difficult to convert the many chances into goals without Buendía. Farke: “We had 75% possession and more than 20 shots on goal. Reading had two shots on goal and both shots resulted in a goal, but we will have to accept that. ”
