Wolves vs Fulham Prediction & Betting tips
In round 37 of the Premier League, two PhD students face each other in the Molineux, as Wolverhampton will be visited by Fulham on Saturday afternoon. While Wolverhampton still competes for Europa League placement as a PhD candidate, Fulham has long been relegated.
Wolverhampton Wanderers:
It is becoming a bit of a repetition of moves but Wolverhampton proves week after week that it is currently the best PhD student of all top competitions. Of course the Wolves received millions of euros in TV money after being promoted to the Premier League last April, but so did the Wolverhampton competition. For comparison: Fulham is nineteenth in the Premier League, Cardiff City is in eighteenth position as a PhD student and the Wolves are therefore neatly seventh. If the formation of Nuno Espírito Santo also qualifies for European football, then the Portuguese can undoubtedly expect a substantial salary increase.
The great thing about this Wolverhampton is that the Wolves perform stably in the Premier League. A week and a half ago, Arsenal won 3-1 and a few days later, the Wolves also won 1-2 nicely at Watford. Because of that victory over Vicarage Road, Wolverhampton now has four points more than Watford and Everton, while the Wolves are also three points ahead of Leicester City. Next weekend, the away game is waiting at Liverpool, but that game is of secondary importance if the Wolves just beat Fulham this weekend. In that case, Wolverhampton will almost certainly finish in seventh place and that usually results in European football, unless Watford wins in the Manchester City FA Cup final.
Fulham:
It’s the upside-down world at Fulham: The Cottagers have known since April 2 that they will be playing in the Championship next season and after that announcement, all games were won. Fulham took no less than nine points out of the last three games and as a result the club from London knows for sure that it will not relegate to the Premier League as a last resort. Theoretically, Fulham’s fellow PhD student Cardiff City could still beat the Premier League, but then The Cottagers also have to win their last two games.
Last weekend Cardiff City was the opponent of Fulham and on Craven Cottage 1-0 was won by a goal from Ryan Babel. The Dutch attacker came over from the Turkish Beşiktaş during the winter transfer period and has proved to be a reinforcement – for example, Babel had already scored five goals in the Premier League and three of those hits were in the last four games. So in the last three games, Fulham took nine points and that is exactly as many as The Cottagers took in the twenty matches before. All in all, they can play nice football at Fulham, but it turned out that The Cottagers were having a hard time under pressure. That pressure has now been gone for a few weeks and since then the Fulham players have gone like the fire brigade.
