Atl. Madrid vs Juventus Prediction & Betting tips
One of the squatters of this first round in the group stage of the Champions League is of course the meeting between Atletico Madrid and Juventus in the Wanda Metropolitano. Both teams are in Group D the two major favorites for wintering in the European champion ball.
Atletico Madrid:
Is this going to be the season of Atletico Madrid? It is still too early to answer that question now, but we cannot ignore the fact that the Spaniards had a strong start to the season. It already started in preparation, with resounding victories over Real Madrid (3-7) and Juventus (2-1). The first three league matches in La Liga were also all won, although last weekend Los Colchoneros had to pay a visit to Real Sociedad (2-0) for their first defeat of the season. The red and white had to relinquish their lead in La Liga to Seville, but are still above their eternal arch-rivals Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
Atletico Madrid is doing a good job, although trainer Diego Simeone was completely unhappy about last weekend’s defeat. Joao Felix played his worst game since his move to Madrid, and Jan Oblak had to get injured and is a doubt for next Wednesday. “We have to grow and keep improving,” says Simeone. Joao Felix is one of the greatest talents in the European fields, but of course the Portuguese still has a lot to learn at the age of nineteen. In that respect, he could not have wished for a better teacher with Diego Costa, because the winner’s mentality of the Brazilian Spaniard is of course beyond dispute.
Juventus:
While Juventus visited Fiorentina last weekend on a scoreless draw, the Turin team is, of course, again this year’s sky-high favorite for winning the Scudetto, the Italian league title. Just like in previous years, the real challenge of De Oude Dame is once again in the Champions League. Despite its bulging prize cabinet with, among other things, 35 national titles, in the past the Italians only managed to seize the Cup with the Big Ears, which of course is very little for such a large club.
Naturally, this season all eyes are on Cristiano Ronaldo, who, despite his age, is still very hungry. During the international break, he boosted his total score with 93 goals against Lithuania and one against Serbia with Portugal to 93 hits, but in Juventus’ shirt this season does not really want to go smoothly with only one goal in four appearances. In addition, Juventus is currently struggling with an injury wave, so trainer Maurizio Sarri has to puzzle. Midfielder Juan Cuadrado, for example, could sometimes be used as an occasional right back.
