Curacao vs El Salvador Prediction & Betting tips
In the night from Monday to Tuesday, the Dutch-tinted Curaçao begins its adventure in the Gold Cup. El Salvador will be the opponent in the Jamaican capital.
Curacao:
After its debut two years ago, Curaçao is again present this summer at the Gold Cup, the most important country tournament in the CONCACAF zone. The team of national coach Remko Bicenteni made an impression during the qualifying series by winning three of her four duels, and ended with a goal difference of no less than +20. In preparation, the Caribbean island took part in the King’s Cup in Thailand earlier this month. Curaçao won the tournament by dealing with Vietnam in the final after penalties.
Curaçao has been making good progress in recent years, and has since worked its way up to 79th place on the FIFA world ranking. The country is still far behind local superpowers such as Mexico (18) and United States (30), but remember that the country was in 183th place just six years ago.
The advance is mainly due to the Dutch contribution. Players like Eloy Room (PSV), Cuco Martina (Feyenoord), Darryl Lachman (NAC), Gervane Kastaneer (ADO The Hague), Elson Hooi (ADO The Hague), Jafar Arias (Emmen), Charlison Benschop (Ingolstadt) and Leandro Bacuna (Cardiff City) grew up in the Netherlands, but Curaçao’s blood does indeed flow through the veins. Their input has naturally given the national football team a huge boost. “I think we have a good chance of surviving the group stage,” says Bicenti. “Two years ago we lost 3 times 3-0. We played well, but did not complete our chances. But now we have more luggage. ”
El Salvador:
El Salvador has plenty of experience in the Gold Cup. The country managed to qualify for the seventh time in a row and reached the quarter-finals in three of the last four editions. Still, it didn’t matter much if El Salvador hadn’t been there this summer. In the very last qualifying match, the country barely managed to beat Jamaica with 2-0, as a result of which Montserrat was narrowly narrowed to the goal difference.
El Salvador is ten places above Curaçao on the FIFA world ranking, but the fact that the country had so much trouble keeping a football dwarf like Montserrat behind naturally makes it think. Almost all players are still active in their own country. One of the exceptions is striker Nelson Bonilla, who this season was already eleven times accurate on behalf of the Thai Bangkok United in just thirteen games. He is El Salvador’s main asset to lead the country to the knockout phase again.
