Dijon vs Montpellier Prediction & Betting tips
In the last three seasons, Dijon and Montpellier both scored in all six competition matches. Can we expect a goal from both teams on Wednesday evening?
Dijon:
Due to a defeat against Lille, Dijon passed the ranking list by Metz last weekend and was back in the relegation zone on goal difference. On a visit to Lille, Stéphane Jobard’s team did not score a single goal and, at halftime, the only goal of the match was collected from a penalty. The last four away games, three in the Ligue 1 and one in the sixteenth finals of the Coupe de la Ligue, were all lost by the mustard city team and, to make matters worse, the Jobard team did not score five away games in a row in a row .
The results of the Jobard team are much better in-house. The first two home games of the season were still lost, followed by two 0-0 draws. The last three home games, against RC Strasbourg, Paris Saint-Germain and Stade Rennais, were all won by one goal difference. In the defensive field in particular, the Jobard team excels in-house, because in the last five home games, only Stade Rennais and Paris Saint-Germain had a loss.
Montpellier:
Just like Dijon, Montpellier this season gets the majority of points in home games. Last weekend the sixth home win in the Ligue 1 of the season was achieved by a 4-2 victory over Amiens. It was 1-1 at halftime, but after a red card for Amiens early in the second half, Michel Der Zakarian’s team ran through three goals in nine minutes to a big win. In the last three home games, a minimum of three hits per game were scored, as a result of which the vanguard of la Paillade is starting to take on more impressive forms.
Der Zakarian has a luxury problem against Dijon: offensive Andy Delort and Gaëtan Laborde are both fit and in shape, as are attacking midfielders Damien Le Tallec, Florent Mollet and Téji Savanier. In the last two games, Florent Mollet was the victim of the midfield competition and was allowed to substitute Gaëtan Laborde and Ambroise Oyongo, respectively. Last weekend the French midfielder immediately asserted himself with a goal, as a result of which Der Zakarian could also choose against Dijon to take on a slightly more offensive team.
