G.A. Eagles vs Helmond Prediction & Betting tips
Go Ahead Eagles and Helmond Sport are both currently on the fourth period. That last title could give the season a bit of a shimmer and that makes the encounter in the Eagle Shack an interesting show of strength.
Go Ahead Eagles:
The fans of Go Ahead Eagles will not have taken a look at the rankings too often in the past few months. The team of trainer Jan van Staa is currently in a disappointing seventeenth place and that is a position that does not seem to belong to the potential and the ambitions. It seems impossible to reach the playoffs through the normal ranking and that is why the focus is now entirely on winning the fourth period. The Eagles started quite well that last period. At home, 1-1 was played against season-wide Telstar and last week was won at FC Dordrecht, an opponent who already managed to catch a period title. With those last two results, the series of undefeated matches came to four and that is something to be proud of as three of the last four opponents come from the left row.
Last week it was finally with Go Ahead Eagles. The away match against FC Dordrecht was a difficult duel in advance and during the game that prediction came true. Jeff Stans put the visitors in South Holland on a 0-1 lead and that goal seemed to be long enough for the three points. Denis Mahmudov seemed to throw a spanner in the game with his late goal, but towards the end it was Xandro Schenk who restored the margin of a goal. His goal in the 87th minute not only resulted in a nice victory, but also a lot of confidence. The Eagles hope to continue the line in the home game against Helmond Sport.
Van Staa has something to choose again this week. Joey Suk is available again after a game suspension and Mauro Savastano and Joey Groenbast are knocking on the door again. The coach did not want to indicate how he would play in the weekly chat with the press. However, it is in line with the expectation that Suk will take his place on the midfield again and that Stefano Beltrame will move back to the bank. Captain Schenk was not completely fit on Thursday, but he probably will be able to start.
Helmond Sport:
Helmond Sport seemed to say goodbye to the ambitions early in the season. The team of coach Roy Hendriksen did not succeed for months on end to throw high eyes and that resulted in a desolate position in the lower regions of the rankings. The season seemed like a night candle to go out, but just when the end seemed close, Helmond Sport was alive. The last five games yielded four victories and a draw and that’s why the supporters may start to dream about an unexpected period title. With the shape it seems to be good. A visit to FC Emmen was played at 0-0, which is no shame, but the matches with Young AZ, Telstar, FC Den Bosch and FC Oss yielded victories. Helmond Sport is still in sixteenth place, but is still alive.
Last week Hendriksen’s men managed to treat FC Oss in their own Helmond on a defeat. This result was due mainly to the hosts for a more than decent start. Ron Janzen and Giovanni Hiwat had already led 2-0 for the hour. Huseyin Dogan scored later, but that did not spoil the fun. Helmond Sport defended the tight lead successfully and thus crossed the ninth victory of the season. It is striking that five of those victories were booked in the last one and a half months. So the Helmasters seem to peak at the right moment.
Hendriksen can again have Charlton Vicento this week. The winger reported last week to the national selection of CuraƧao and as a result he had to make it hit with FC Oss. Opposite the return of Vicento is the disappearance of Jeroen Verkennis. The young right back is struggling with an injury.
