Leeds vs Bolton Prediction & Betting tips
The numerous football fans on the island may look forward to Easter – similar to the Christmas holidays – over a normal game operation. Where “normal” is actually even understated, because even more games than usual take place. So Good Friday is a real holiday in the English Championship, where as many as ten games will be played. One of them is Leeds United’s encounter with Bolton Wanderers. At first glance, a difficult duel from the table midfielder (14th vs. 19th in the 24-league). We analyze which bets might be worthwhile.
Leeds:
In the squad of Leeds United are with Felix Wiedwald and Pierre-Michel Lasogga two well known names in Germany. Both have it before the season from northern Germany (Wiedwald was last at Werder Bremen, Lasogga is on loan from HSV) fled to the island. Although goalkeeper Wiedwald has played 28 of the possible 38 games, Leeds is not satisfied with the club’s performances or the fans’ side. Almost inevitably, therefore, he had to settle for the last three games with a seat on the bench. Lasogga, on the other hand, has played into the hearts of the English fans and scored the notices of some Premier League scouts with his ten goals in 26 games.
In the last two games, however, he came only as a joker from the bank. At the end of December, Leeds United looked like a fifth in the table as a promotion candidate, but since Boxing Day, the whites have gone downhill rapidly with just one win in 14 games. Even a change of coach Thomas Christiansen (in Germany also known from his stints as a player at VfL Bochum and Hannover 96) to Paul Heckingbottom (was committed by league rival Barnsley FC from his current contract) could not stop the downward trend until now. His record: skinny six points from eight games.
Bolton:
The Bolton Wanderers have with Jan Kirchhoff (Mainz, Bavaria, Schalke) and the Nigerian Chinedu Obasi (Hoffenheim and Schalke) also two well-known names in Germany in their ranks. Both, however, came only five or four weeks ago from the Unemployed to the Trotters. Since then, Obasi has not been in the squad, Kirchhoff came at least two missions (but neither of them over the full distance).
Bolton has been unbeaten in three games and plays as a climber a decent season. But they also have big problems in foreign places. So they are with just eleven points from 19 games, the second worst away team in the league. With Gary Madine, the team’s top scorer was sold to Cardiff City in January, which is one reason why they scored the third-lowest scores in the league. The first leg lost the Trotters 2: 3 at home against Leeds. In the second leg they want to do better. This could help the fact that currently in the nearly 30-player squad are no injuries or barriers to complain, so that coach Phil Parkinson can draw on the full.
