Helmond vs Excelsior Prediction & Betting tips
Two disappointing teams meet on Friday evening in the Kitchen Champion Division. Helmond is last and hoped for a better season, but Excelsior was seen as a contender for the title and are now seventh. Helmond can overtake FC Dordrecht in a win, while Excelsior can beat NAC.
Helmond Sport:
The team of Wil Boessen performs enormously weak in this football season. Earlier this season the only BVO from Helmond managed to gather points, but for a long time there has been nothing to cheer for the supporters crowd. We have to return the last home victory to Friday 4 October against MVV. For a long time Helmond Sport was in nineteenth place, but now that FC Dordrecht is starting to gather points after the transfer period, they have now passed them. On average Helmond Sport receives 2.2 goals against each match and Boessen seems to vary from a 4-3-3 formation to a two-point system. However, there seems to be more structure in the team since Jordy Thomassen was taken over from De Graafschap. He could not cope with the fact that he had Ralf Seuntjens in front of him and regularly could not even stand in. He would then be at home in tears and, for more certainty, he would return to his old employer. The four matches that he is now at Helmond Sport, he is always in the base.
In the last round of play Helmond Sport had to visit – number 3 of the competition – FC Volendam. In the fishing village, the Boessen team was unable to stand up to Wim Jonk’s attractive concept of play. Just after the break, Francesco Antonucci made the opening goal. When Guus Joppen scored an own goal 2-0 just before the end, it was played. Thomassen still scored the connection goal, but it was too late.
Excelsior:
Excelsior has a difficult first season in the Kitchen Champion Division. After the relegation in the 2019 play-offs against RKC Waalwijk, the goal they had in mind was a simple promotion. However, this did not go smoothly and the team performed mixedly, they had too many goals against and away games ended up too often in point loss. This would ultimately cost Ricardo Moniz’s contract. At the turn of the year it was clear to the people of Rotterdam that something had to happen if Excelsior still wanted to meet the promotion wishes. Wouter Burger, Cameron Humphreys and Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill were rented from Feyenoord, Zulte-Waregem and FC Dordrecht respectively. Determining players Dogucan Haspolat and Jeffry Fortes left, so it remains to be seen whether the Kralingers have really improved. However, there was a return of an old acquaintance in Kralingen. Marinus Dijkhuizen once guided Excelsior from eighth place to the promotion and may now try to repeat this fairy tale.
Immediately in the first match, a squatter against competitor NAC was on the program. Marinus Dijkhuizen was allowed to prepare his players against his old club. Rai Vloet – who also played against his old club – scored the opening goal. Fifteen minutes before the end, Luigi Bruins seemed to decide when he scored a penalty. When Jan Paul van Hecke scored the connection goal in the 87 minute, there was another spark of hope for the club from Breda. In the 90 + 4 minute, Arno Verschueren scored the tying run and with that, the debut of Dijkhuizen and Ormonde-Ottewill ended disastrous.
