Romania vs Finland Prediction & Betting tips
The internationals of Romania and Finland pull twice the national jersey before their summer holidays begin. The first match is against each other and will be played in Ploiesti on Tuesday
Romania:
Romania did not manage to qualify for this summer’s World Cup. The Romanians ended in fourth place behind Poland, Denmark and Montenegro in a group with Armenia and Kazakhstan. The team of coach Cosmin Contra got only thirteen points from ten games, which was not enough for the playoffs.
The missing of the fourth World Cup in a row is for Contra reason to rejuvenate. Some new players will have the chance to play in the spotlight for the next two exhibition games.
This means, among other things, that big names such as Vlad Chirices (Napoli), Costel Pantilimon (Nottingham Forest), Gabriel Torje (Dinamo Bucharest), Bogdan Stancu (Bursaspor), Claudiu Keseru (Ludogorets), Florian Andone (Deportivo la Coruna), Iasmian Latovlevici (Galatasaray) and Alexandru Maxim (Mainz) are not there for various reasons.
This means that outside Cristian Sapunaru (Kayserispor), Gheorge Grozav (Bursaspor) and Alexandru Chipciu (Anderlecht) are the only experienced field players.
Finland:
Finland is one of the weaker brothers in Europe. The Scandinavian country never managed to qualify for a final tournament and did not come close to it during the most recent qualifying session. Behind Iceland, Croatia, Ukraine and Turkey, the Finns finished in fifth place in group I. Only Kosovo kept the team from Markku Kanerva behind.
Kanerva took nine points out of ten games. The Finns were a few times brave. Thus, Kosovo and Iceland were won and Croatia and Turkey were held on a draw. Two months ago, Malta was beaten 5-0 in a friendly match.
For the practice games against Malta and Belarus, Kanerva left some experienced players at home. For example, Teemu Pukki (Brøndby), Kasper Hämäläinen (Legia Warsaw), Alexander Ring (New York City) and Joel Pohjanpalo (Bayer Leverkusen) are not present. We will not see Fredrik Jensen of FC Twente in action.
The better-known names that will take action on Tuesday are his goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky (Eintracht Frankfurt), Jere Uronen (Racing Genk), Tim Sparv (FC Midtjylland) and Thomas Lam (FC Twente).
