West Brom vs QPR Prediction & Betting tips
West Bromwich Albion has dragged four points from the first two games. QPR, on the other hand, still stands at zero points. Will the Hawthorns succeed in getting rid of that terrible zero, or will West Brom take the win in his own field?
West Brom:
After the 3-4 win over Norwich City last weekend, there was a midweek match for West Bromwich Albion for the Carabao Cup scheduled against Luton Town. Since Luton plays in the League One and the Carabao Cup has little to offer for West Brom, Darren Moore rotated well in his basic eleven. Only three players from the victory at Norwich were again in the starting line-up. This created a place for, among others, James Morrison, Hal Robson-Kanu and Oliver Burke. The latter came over RB Leipzig last summer for more than fifteen million euros, but in his first season at The Baggies he did not manage to become a basic player.
Against Luton, however, the Scot showed himself and that resulted in the opening goal in the second half. West Brom then tried to lock the game, but a liberating second goal did not come anymore. Nonetheless, The Baggies managed to reach the next round in the Carabao Cup, as Luton did not score on The Hawthorns anymore.
Queens Park Rangers:
In the Championship it is not yet at Queens Park Rangers. The Londoners are still at zero points after two games and with West Bromwich Albion they are again not an easy opponent to choose. For the self-confidence it was therefore very nice that there was a match against third division Peterborough United on the program. On Loftus Road The R’s were allowed to refuel confidently and it did so remarkably fast. After six minutes, the team of Steve McClaren was already 2-0 ahead by goals from Luke Freeman and Pawel Wszolek. Both goals were prepared by Conor Washington.
The midweek victory will give QPR a slightly better feeling towards the West Brom competition. There will soon have to be won by The R’s, otherwise this season may end in a degradation battle. Somewhat hopeful to the defeats is that the games were only narrowly lost (1-0 against Preston and 1-2 against Sheffield United). Victories, or at least draws must therefore certainly be feasible for QPR. For now the result is the most important, as it is a fact that only Reading is among the London squad at the moment (also no points).
